I think I figured it out last night after my post. I started over again, and this time I ran through and installed everything before installing the script. Seems to have worked that way. Also, I do have a zip containing the repo that I've had on my computer since using MQ8. It's version 2.0.1. It worked fine. Kodi now says there is a version 3.0.0 of the repo that I have NOT installed yet. Seems to be the trick. I think the problem might have been because I had the skin already installed, and the repo had been updated.
So going forward, for everybody else to.... Manually install the files, THEN install the skin. DO NOT UPDATE THE REPO!
